Photograph paper or pick photos you already have. Pages are cropped and straightened, and you can fill and sign the result without leaving the app.
How it works

Scan or pick photos
Tap Scan paper and photograph each page, or choose photos you already took. On Android, the camera is Google's document scanner.

Tidy the pages
Adjust the crop corners, rotate, and choose a look: original, auto, clean, black and white, grey or text. Fine-tune brightness and contrast.

Save the PDF
Rename it, add more pages later, share it or save it. If it's a form, tap Fill it in.
Searchable scans
With Pro, a scan can get an invisible text layer, so you can search the PDF and copy its text. The text is recognised on your device.
From paper form to finished PDF
A scanned form isn't a dead end. Fill it in turns the scan into questions, like any other PDF form, and you can sign it before you send it.
On the Mac
Fillstep for Mac imports a scan from your iPhone or iPad camera with Continuity Camera (File, Import from iPhone or iPad). The Mac itself never uses a camera.

Questions and answers
How do I turn photos into a PDF?
In Fillstep, choose Photos to PDF, pick the photos in the order you want, tidy the pages and save. Each photo becomes one page.
How many pages can I scan?
On iPhone and iPad, as many as the document has. On Android, Google's scanner takes up to 20 pages at a time; add more pages to the same scan afterwards.
Are my scans uploaded?
No. Page images stay on your device and become a PDF there. They aren't saved to your photo library unless you choose Save to Photos.
Can I scan a paper form and fill it in?
Yes. After the scan, tap Fill it in. Fillstep finds the blanks and asks you for each answer.
