Google's document scanner
Paper is scanned with Google's ML Kit document scanner, which runs inside Google Play services. Fillstep itself never asks for the camera.

Your documents stay on this device
Documents, answers and signatures live in Fillstep's private storage and are excluded from Google backups. If you want a copy in the cloud, connect your own Google Drive and Fillstep backs up finished PDFs there.

Questions and answers
Does Fillstep work on Android tablets?
Yes. Wide tablets show the page beside the questions while you fill.
Why doesn't Fillstep ask for the camera?
Scanning uses Google's document scanner inside Google Play services, which has its own camera permission. Fillstep receives only the finished pages.
Can I use Pro bought on my iPhone on Android?
Not today. Pro follows the store you bought it from.
