How it works

Open the form
Tap Open a PDF, or share a PDF to Fillstep from Files, Mail, WhatsApp or Drive. A paper form can be scanned, and photos of a form become a PDF.

Answer the questions
Text, dates in the format the form asks for, Yes or No, tick boxes and tables. Fill my details answers the personal ones in one tap.

Check where each answer goes
Where is this? highlights the field on the page. On a large iPad or a Mac the page sits beside the questions and fills in as you type.

Make the PDF and share it
Review shows any missing answers first. Then share or save a normal PDF that shows every answer in any PDF app.
Fillable, flat or scanned, it works either way
If the PDF has form fields, Fillstep uses them. If it doesn't, such as a scan, a photo or a PDF printed from a Word file, it reads the page on your device and finds the lines and boxes where answers go.
If a blank is missed, add your own text, date, tick, cross or signature anywhere on the page and place it exactly.
Type your details once
Save your name, date of birth, address, email and phone in My details. When a form asks for them, Fillstep suggests the answer under the question. Nothing is filled without a tap.
Stop and come back later
Every answer is saved on your device as you go. Open the form again and tap Continue filling to pick up at the same question.

Good to know
- Fillstep finds the blanks on most printed forms. Handwritten forms and unusual layouts can need a field added by hand.
- The free plan saves 3 new forms a month. Editing and saving again a form you already saved is always free.
- Forms that require a government certificate signature can't be signed with Fillstep.
Questions and answers
How do I fill out a PDF form on my iPhone?
Open the PDF in Fillstep from Files, Mail or the share sheet, answer the questions one at a time, then tap Review and share the finished PDF. You never have to zoom into tiny boxes.
How do I fill out a PDF form on Android?
Share the PDF to Fillstep or choose Open with, Fillstep from WhatsApp, Gmail, Drive or Files. Answer the questions and share the finished PDF.
Can I fill a PDF that isn't fillable?
Yes. Fillstep finds the blanks on flat and scanned forms by reading the page on your device. Anything it misses, you can add by hand.
Can I change an answer after I saved the PDF?
Yes. Open the form, change any answer or add something on the page, and save again. Editing a form you already saved doesn't count as a new form.
How do I fill the same details on many forms?
Save them once in My details. Each new form offers them under the matching questions, and Fill my details answers a whole page in one tap.
